Welcome to my Web site!

Following
on from racing in AMCA motocross I started motorcycle road racing in 1997.
In 2003 I decided to contest the British Motorcycle Racing Organisation'
National championship on my 1998 Honda RS250. This was a big step up from
the club racing I had been doing and the challenge was fantastic taking in
new circuits around the UK. I started the MRO campaign by finishing 16th at
Snetterton and then 15th at Oulton Park. The next two rounds were at Cadwell
park (a track I was familiar with) where I finished 12th and 11th. The next
two rounds were at Brands Hatch where I had never raced before which showed
in my results with 23rd and 19th placed finishes. My lap times at all
circuits improved greatly due to this high level of competition. At this
point I was financially unable to continue with the MRO championship due to
the cost of entry fees, crash repairs, tyres and fuel for my van to get to
the meetings. I raised a little bit of money through sponsorship from local
companies and returned to the cheaper club racing scene held at local
circuits for the second half of the season. I managed to win six club races
and finish second on ten occasions. Some top ten finishes in the races for
bikes up to 1300cc also got me plenty of attention and a bit of prize money.
Even though I missed a few rounds I finished in second place in the Darley
Moor Club Championship. I also set the fastest lap on a numerous occasions
and was the only 250 rider to lap Darley Moor at an average speed of over
90MPH. During the winter I have saved enough money to replace some worn out
parts on my bike so I will be racing again in 2004 sadly not at MRO level
unless a major sponsor comes forward but at club and possibly superclub
level.
